Saturday, January 8, 2011, a deranged madman, Jared Lee Loughner, gunned down innocent people in a Tucson Arizona shopping mall. One of those innocents being Congress Woman Gabrielle Giffords.
“The first thought, the desperate hope, that the losers in November of 2010 had was that they could revitalize their political fortunes because of this unfortunate shooting of a congresswoman in Arizona. That was the most important thing to them — and that, to me, is sick.” —Rush Limbaugh
Free speech is under attack again. The left, in their usual fashion, chose to take a tragedy and turn it into an excuse for politics. After all, Like Rahm Emanuel (and Saul Alinsky) said, “never let a crisis go to waste.”
All are attempting to give the impression that the so-called “right” or “conservative” voices caused this problem. Quick to judge but never to prove. They are defending this nutjob and shifting the blame before the blood shed even cooled.
This comes from the same group of people, who only three years ago wanted all sorts of bad things to happen (publicly wishing for his assassination) to our previous President and those “vitriolic” voices on the radio. Members of the Hollywood Progressive crowd made all sorts of horrible statements about our former President and those on the radio. Joy Bahoar, Rosie O’Donnel, Keith Olbermann, Rachael Maddow, the whole New York Times staff, James Cameron, Al Gore, and I could go on.
It seems to me that the only hatred and vitriol I ever hear or read about are from those professing to be members of a “tolerant, compassionate, and open-minded” liberal/progressive thinking group. How many effigies of George W. Bush have you seen burned by the left? Many. How many effigies of Barrack Obama have you seen burned by the Tea Parties? Zero.
Funny, Glenn Beck‘s rally on 8/28/2010 was all about honor, love of God and Country, behaving peacefully, and family. That somehow keeps getting twisted into being “hatred”, “vitriol”, or even “right wing rhetoric”. They want you to pretend the hateful words of Reverend Wright, Rosie O’Donnel, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, etc. never happened. Want to know where the term “tea bagger” came from? Yep, the left.
The truth is, they think anyone with a different opinion than their own is “hateful” or “vitriolic”. Using the tragedy caused by an insane madman to bolster their rhetoric is disgusting.
Such behavior goes against everything the Tea Party and the conservative talk show hosts believe in. What’s really amazing is that every time such a thing happens by some sick nutjob, it ends up being shown that their political thinking was actually far left. The suicidal Postal Worker, the IRS shooter, plus others, and now even Jared Lee Loughner turned out to be fans of Karl Marx and Adolf Hitler. Heck, his favorite document was the Communist Manifesto! Clearly as far left as you can get. Yet it’s somehow the fault of Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Michelle Malkin, or Rush Limbaugh that these things happen. It doesn’t make any sense.
I find the only time I hear hatred or vitriolic words always seems to be by those on the left. Why? It is their method to shift blame from them and to tug at the heartstrings to achieve their goals. Why stop doing what works? Lying is such an effective weapon for them.
What the truth is, is that evil exists and fault lies with the individuals that did this. Stop blaming others for someone’s actions. Stop trying to score points with a tragedy.
I challenge all Americans, left or right, regardless if you’re a politician, pundit, painter, priest, parishioner, poet or porn star to agree with all of the following.
- I denounce violence, regardless of ideological motivation.
- I denounce anyone, from the Left, the Right or middle, who believes physical violence is the answer to whatever they feel is wrong with our country.
- I denounce those who wish to tear down our system and rebuild it in their own image, whatever that image may be.
- I denounce those from the Left, the Right or middle, who call for riots and violence as an opportunity to bring down and reconstruct our system.
- I denounce violent threats and calls for the destruction of our system – regardless of their underlying ideology – whether they come from the Hutaree Militia or Frances Fox Piven.
- I hold those responsible for the violence, responsible for the violence. I denounce those who attempt to blame political opponents for the acts of madmen.
- I denounce those from the Left, the Right or middle that sees violence as a viable alternative to our long established system of change made within the constraints of our constitutional Republic.
— Glenn Beck
I make my own challenge to these sick opportunists. “Prove it!” They can’t because it just may point straight back to them and prove that those supporting freedom, liberty, family, love of country, and free speech have nothing to hide, nor be ashamed of. Don’t let them use this tragedy as an excuse to take away even more of your freedoms.
For a sane assessment of the tragedy, read the following articles:
- Jared Loughner is a product of Sheriff Dupnik’s office
- Jared Loughner’s alleged shooting rampage blamed on media by commentators
Religious Note: Scripture always speaks of the wicked fighting against good with “wailing and gnashing of teeth.” It’s odd how literal that statement is. I find a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth, and it isn’t coming from those preaching kindness and honor. It’s usually from the likes of Francis Fox Piven, Van Jones, Reverend Wright, Acorn, Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Wrangle, Harry Reid, Rosie O’Donnell, Al Gore, Keith Olbermann, Madonna, Rahm Emanuel, Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joy Bahoar, Whoopie Goldberg, Michael Moore, James Cameron, Rachael Maddow… my fingers are getting tired…
I haven’t once herd Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Mark Billing, even Mark Levin wish physical harm on anyone. Yet most of those from the previous paragraph has wished for the painful death of someone not agreeing with their politics (George W. Bush … hint hint). Unlike them, they nor I wish them any harm. I don’t want to take away their rights to free speech either, unlike their wishes.
